This Banana Bread Oatmeal has no sugar added, is healthy and very filling! What more could you ask for in a breakfast cereal?
I love breakfast foods. Breakfast is such a fun meal! The options seem to be endless. So today I present you with a no-sugar added Banana Bread Oatmeal. There are only 4 ingredients in this oatmeal which makes this incredibly easy to throw together and you make it in the microwave! That means it is perfect for those busy mornings (think school coming up)! If you like banana bread, you will love this oatmeal. With the oats, bananas, nuts and warm milk, it is like enjoying a slice of warm banana bread right out of the oven. Enjoy this with a cup of coffee and you have the perfect breakfast!
This recipe is from my husband’s Aunt Leslie. She and her family have made some amazing changes to their diet and are an inspiration to us all! Where I use oats, she uses oat bran; I use 1% milk and she uses almond milk. You can easily make this how you like it, to fit your dietary needs. The best part, I think, is that there is no added sugar! When the bananas cook in the microwave they become very soft and mushy (I know, yum). They are then able to be broken down and stirred up into the oats so that they sweeten the whole bowl!
I am seriously in love this breakfast! I have had it almost every day for the last week! Try it and see for yourself how good and filling a healthy breakfast can be!
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ banana, sliced
- 1-2 tablespoons walnuts
- ⅔ cups milk
- In a microwavable bowl, combine all ingredients. Microwave on for 4 minutes or until oats are done.
- Let oats cool for a few minutes and stir until the bananas are mixed well. Serve as is or top with berries.

Yum! I love oatmeal too, however I don’t eat much of it in the summer. I think that’s about to change. I love this creative idea
Thanks Haley!
