Christmas Eve is one of my favorite days of the year. I probably enjoy it more than Christmas Day. From a very young age my parents made Christmas Eve very special. The day included lots of traditions that we did every year, including breakfast at a local restaurant, a trip to see a local train display, the local conservatory and the Christmas Eve service at our church. After church we would come home and enjoy appetizers and dessert. The whole day was magical.

Part of the magic included these Salami Rolls. We would eat these as part of our snacks after church. They are super simple to prepare and so delicious! As I was making these, I had a hard time not eating all of them. Just eating them, brings back loads of memories from Christmas Eves past.

If you are looking for an easy appetizer for parties or just for your family, these Salami Rolls are just what you need! Try these Salami Rolls with Ritz crackers or even make your own!  And if you another appetizer idea that is sure to knock people’s socks off, check out these Brown Sugar Bacon Smokies!

What are some of your family traditions for Christmas Eve?

This recipe does not have specific measurements. Adjust according to amount needed and tastes! I like a nice smear of cream cheese on a thinly sliced piece of salami. ¼ pound of salami goes quite a good distance! These rolls are great served with Ritz crackers.
Ingredients
  • thinly sliced hard salami
  • cream cheese
  • Ritz crackers for serving
Instructions
  1. Smear desired amount of cream cheese onto a slice of salami. Roll and place on serving plate. Repeat and serve with Ritz crackers!

  2. These look great! My mom always makes something similar for New Year’s but adds horseradish into the filling! These reminded me of her appetizers, I need to make some too! :)
