Beyond the Kitchen Table 6/15/2014

What a busy couple of weeks we have had! It’s so fun to do these posts and look back at all the blessings God bestows upon us!

Stephen graduated from Kindergarten! What a sweet boy!

photo1 (7)The following week, my brother graduated from SCAD with his Masters in Fine Arts! Way to go, Bud! We are so proud of you!

photo1 (11)For my brother’s graduation we got to spend some time in Savannah!

photo1 (8)My favorite part about Savannah was Paula Dean’s The Lady and Sons. ┬áIt totally lives up to the hype and was extremely laid back. I didn’t feel like I was at a tourist attraction and there were not a ton of people stuffed into the dinning room.

photo1 (13)We had so much fun at the restaurant. The kids were so good after a very long day!

photo1 (12)My kids have had to go gluten and dairy free (more on that later this week). The Lady and Sons restaurant has been the best experience I have had so far (we have been gluten free since April). Our waitress went above and beyond to make sure that my kids were taken care of and had a good dinner.

The “Original Meyer Clan” as my sister-in-law calls us. We are so proud of David!

photo1 (6)After Savannah we moved on to Hilton Head Island. Oh what a fun, relaxing week! I love this picture of my kids. Every picture of both Stephen and Emma, Stephen puts his arm around her! So sweet!

photo1 (14)Be still my heart. Brother and Sister holding hands. It doesn’t get much cuter than this!

photo1 (16)After we got back from vacation, Stephen asked me if he could take me on a date. Of course I said yes. He even said Emma could come along with us. He took us to Chipotle.

We had VBS at church this week. The theme was “The Mad Scientist.” My kids had so much fun and sang of Jesus all week!

I am so thankful that in our little town we still have some pretty cool things to keep kids occupied during the summer. We visited our local splash park this week and I am sure we will be back again!

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend!

  1. It’s like I was reading of myself several years ago. My nephew Andy Dickerson,
graduated from SCAD and I got to fly in from Calif to attend. Savannah was so exciting and where did we eat? Paula Deans of course. You can’t go there not eat at this restaurant. Thank you for a rerun.
